This is a "free" education programs to the communities in New Jersey (e.g., Camden City, and
Gloucester County).
We the Isaiah 54 Project A NJ Non Profit Corporation will be implementing its "STEP by STEP to HOMEOWNERSHIP" Program to 18 year old and older individuals in the community that are seeking to better understand their credit, opening up a bank account, and handling bank transactions. As well, as inviting financial establishments, such as: mortgage companies, foreclosure specialist, and other businesses through this educational program.
This program is designed to assist
in understanding how bank accounts, savings accounts and check writing works in
world. It will also bring to
light the importance of how not paying bills on time will affect the
participant’s credit score and financial history when they attempt to purchase
a car, home, or apply for loans or mortgages.
We want them to avoid the pitfalls
of having a bad credit rating. Many individuals are not aware that it can also
affect obtaining a job or entrance into some colleges. This program will help
with short term planning such as paying bills and saving money. As well,
it will also help with future long term goals of purchasing their dream house. This is why the Pre-purchase Homeownership Education and
Counseling model, as shown below.
Fees are based on Household Earnings and depth of credit challenges. All customers have the option to purchase the "homeownership education manual", as well as required to pay up front for office supplies used,
Pre-purchase Service Provided: Must register for workshop and classes.
Orientation Workshop Required 1+ hour for potential customers on the
our homeownership services and products. A one or two hour
orientation session plus a 1:1 meeting with a counselor will
help customers assess readiness for homeownership and select
one of the different tracks of homeownership education
according to their readiness.
Fast-Track Classes Generally work best for customers with fairly minor obstacles. Usually, the obstacles can be resolved within a
month or two. Fast-Track workshops are an excellent way to
provide a large number of "near ready" customers with the
information needed to quickly move them to homeownership.
Fast-Track classes consist of eight or more hours of
homeownership education in four to six intensive workshops.
Homebuyers Clubs This is aimed at families facing obstacles to homeownership
that cannot be resolved in a few months. Homebuyers Clubs
cover the same information as fast-track workshops, but
spread the material over a longer period of time, which
provides families more time to correct credit problems or
save for the upfront costs of homeownership. Homebuyers
Clubs are thorough and provide useful group support. They
include 12 or more hours of homeownership education and
typically run 3 to 12 months.
Individual Counseling Individual counseling supplements group education by
focusing on problems and issues that are specific to a
particular homebuyer. The sessions generally include
information on budgeting, developing a savings plan, credit
issues and repairing credit, and selecting a home.
